James Francis McDermott, 80, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on May 12, 2008.
He was born on Jan. 19, 1928, in White Plains, N.Y., to James and Jeanette
(McGill) McDermott.

On May 12, 1956, he married Mary Farrell in South Orange, N.J.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Dennis McDermott and wife, Julie
of Atlanta, Ga., Kathy Fowler and husband, Steve of Winston- Salem, N.C.,
Michael McDermott of McKinney, Texas, Kevin McDermott and wife, Bonnie of
McKinney, Texas, Rosemary O’Dell and husband, Mark of Golden, Colo., James
McDermott of McKinney, Texas, Peggy McDermott of Allen, Texas, Maureen Gorman
and husband, Ross of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Bill McDermott of
Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Bro. Keegan McDermott, Bro. Brian McDermott,
Jack McDermott, Annette McDermott, Zachary Fowler, Logan Fowler, Jenny
McDermott, Sean McDermott, Jordan McDermott, Ryan McDermott, Brendan
McDermott, Meagan McDermott, Jake O’Dell, Craig O’Dell, Nick O’Dell, Shannon
O’Dell, Caitlin McDermott, Collin McDermott, Laney Gorman and Lindsay Gorman;
sister, Jean Brennan and husband, Walter of Ramona, Calif.; and brother, Frank
McDermott of Agawam, Mass.

Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008, at
St. Michael’s Catholic Church, McKinney, Texas, with Father Dean Pratt
celebrant. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends during a rosary at 6 p.m. Sunday, with
visitation to follow from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral
Home, Allen, Texas.
