Morris, a respected farmer and citizen of the Spring Hill community, four miles southwest of Farmersville, died Saturday, Feb. 17, and was buried next day in the Prairie Grove cemetery. The deceased was a consistent member of the Baptist church. Rev. J.S. Cameron, of McKinney did not fill his usual appointment at Spring Hill that day owing to the death, but attended the burial and conducted the last rites over his deceased member at the grave. Morris from his labor on earth to the mansions above. Bro. Morris was born June 16 1849, in the state of Alabama. He had lived in Texas several years. He professed a hope in Christ in 1873 and joined the Baptist church the following year. He was married to Miss Melissa Bailey June 29, 1873, with whom he lived happily until his death Feb. 17, 1900. Some time before his death he gave full direction about his funeral as calm as talking about some business transaction. It was his request that the writer preach his funeral. Bro.
