All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Robert Claude Loftice Obituary Claud Loftice, one of Northwest Collin County’s best known farmers, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Carlock, McKinney, Texas. He had been there for some time so as to be near a hospital for treatment of an illness. He and his wife lived on their farm about six miles northeast of Celina, Texas on the Weston Road. The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Bethel Baptist Church, Rev. j. T. Bledsoe, pastor of the church and Rev. Jack May officiating. Burial was in Cottage Hill Cemetery, Morgan-Scott Funeral Home of Celina in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Clayton Conley of Irving, Texas; Dewitt Luscomb and Clyde Robinson, both of Melissa, Texas; Ed Luscomb of McKinney, Texas and Don Loftice and J. C. Loftice both of Celina, Texas. All were nephews of Mr. Loftice. Mr. Loftice was born November 27, 1897 in the Coffman Community between Melissa and Chambersville, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Loftice. He moved with his parents to the Bethel Community when he was 12 years old, and continued to live in that area for the remainder of his life. He and his wife, the former Miss Leah Wester, daughter of Mr. Lon Wester and the late Mrs. Wester, were married January 3, 1920. The ceremony took place in the home of Rev. L. T. Grumbles of Celina, Texas who officiated. Mr. Loftice was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Lester and J. P. Loftice of Dallas and Neal Loftice of Plano, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence Rawlings of Celina, Texas, Mrs. Billy LaGrone of Richardson, Texas, Mrs. Robert Dees of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Mrs. Carlock; two brothers, Curtis Loftice of Celina, Texas and Whit Loftice of McKinney, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Flanery of Celina, Texas and Mrs. Myrt Driver of Weston, Texas and ten grandchildren.
