All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** my great grandparent _________________________________________________ Killian Rites Held Sunday Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Killian, 27, succumbed Saturday, July 1st, at the Jackson Street residence of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Lingo. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the First Methodist Church, with the Rev. M.E. Wyatt, assisted by the Rev. Bill Howell, officiating. Burial was in Prairie Grove cemetery. Pallbears were her grandsons, Billy Webb, Farmersville; Audie Murphy, Hollywood, Calif; Paul Patterson, Ft. Worth; Earl Killian, San Angelo; Dwain and Weldon Killian, Ada, Oklahoma. Mrs. Killian, who had lived in and near Farmersville since 1888, was born in Hiawassee College, Tennessee March 6, 1863. She was the daughter of Curtis and Jane Gill, and was the widow of Jefferson Davis Killian, who died in 1943. The couple were married in Tennessee on May 17, 1883 and moved to Texas in 1888. Mrs. Killian had been a member of the Prarie Grove Baptist Church for many years. Surviviors include eight daughters, Mrs. J.W. Patterson, Mrs. M.V. Jackson, Mrs. Jessie Webb, Mrs. Nettie Lingo, Farmersville; Mrs. J.A. Williams, Garland; Mrs. C.R. Myers, Tyler; Mrs. J.E. Gallimore, Augua Dulce; Mrs. C.H. Webb, Ada, Oklahoma; four sons, S.H. Killian and W.A. Killian, Farmersville, T.J. Killian, Ada, Oklahoma; and C.A. Killian, San Angelo; sixty-eight grandchildren, eighty-six great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. __________________________________________________ Note:The newspaper obit says she was 27 but is should have been 87.
