All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************** Thomas Pitner “Ky” Helms Obituary Thomas Pitner Helms would have been 100 years of age had he lived until the 29th of this month. Mr. Helms, a Celina area farmer, died last Thursday in the Sundial Nursing Home in Pilot Point, Texas where he had been living for more than a year. Active and alert until the last, his death was a result of heart failure. A native of Collin County, Texas who was born November 29, 1873, son of Jim and Tennessee Wilson Helms. He had lived near Celina all of his life. Mr. Helms was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Stiles of Celina, Texas; one son, R. W. Helms of Canton, Ohio; two step-sons, Vancil George and Paul George, both of Celina, Texas; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Hugh Abraham and Rev. J. T. Bledsoe officiating. Burial was in Cottage Hill Cemetery with Scott Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Ken Massey, Lorin Yates, Wilber Close, Billy Ross Pell, Lee Rucker, and Marvin Bull.
