She was born on Nov. 16, 1920, in McKinney, Texas, the daughter of Julius Frank and Minnie Lee (York) Samples. She married James Benjamin Crim in 1939 in Sherman, Texas. He preceded her in death. She married Tommy Whitfield in February 2007 in Van Alstyne, Texas. Frances was a homemaker and member of East Lake Baptist Church in Bullard, Texas. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Club. She led the Sittersize Group at Meadow Brook Care Center where she was also active in Bingo and many other activities. She is survived by her husband, Tommy; sons, Grover Carrell Crim and his wife, Peggy of Anna, Don Wayne Crim and his wife, Lana of Van Alstyne and James Edward Crim and his wife Betty of Jacksonville, Texas; grandchildren, James Carrell Crim, Kelly Don Crim, David Wayne Crim, Shanna Denise Scott, Jeffrey Allen Crim, James Kevin Crim and Janna Crim McMahon; great-grandchildren, Crystal Pena, Samantha Horey, David Crim Jr., Krista Crim, Will Dowtin, Brooke Dowtin, Boston White, Devon Crim, Meghan Crim, Kassi Crim and Jordan Crim; and great-great- granddaughter, Jocelyn Pena. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, with Pastor Jim Poole officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
