Booker Preston Clark, Nov. 17, 1881 - Mar. 21, 1943.  Grave is located in 
section five, row 10 of South Fairview Cemetery in Wellington.  Photo taken by 
grandson, Steve Clark.  

Additional Comments:
Booker P. Clark was born in Little River Co., AR, the son of James H. Clark and 
Mary (Molly) D. Garret.  As a young man the railroad and the discovery of oil 
led him to work in Oklahoma where he met and married young Bertha Ellen Harris, 
daughter of Nathan Washington Harris and Allie B. Jones.  Together they had ten 
children, eight of them girls.  Sometime before 1916 they moved to West Texas --
 family tradition says -- in a covered wagon.  Bertha, fifteen years his 
junior, died in 1976 and is buried in Lubbock, TX.
