The pictures are of the little store that used to serve the families of the Comal,Texas area, the Little St. Joseph's Chapel up and across from the cemetery. The 8 Mile Cemetery, part of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, from New Braunfels, Texas. My mothers' family members are buried in this cemetery. Her grandparents Sabas and Sotera Herrera (sometimes spelled Errera), her aunts, Anita Herrera and Gregoria Salas. Gregoria Salas was married to my mom's uncle Plutarco Herrera. Mom's uncle Polo Herrera, and brother Domingo Herrera. If you need dates, just let me know. There are also pictures of the whole cemetery showing some of the other headstones. The original gate was first placed between the two large trees that are still there, near the now existing main gate. My mom, Gabriela Martinez, says that she remembers going to spend the day at the cemetery when she has growing up. The families would spend the the day there cleaning the their family members burial sites. They would travel by horse and wagon and after working they would eat beneath the trees before going home.
