L. “Pete” Alexander, 79, of Pilot Point, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Clement-Keel Chapel with the Rev. Milton Pledger, retired minister, the Rev. Larry Wiley, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and the Rev. Danny Shaver of Pioneer Valley Church, officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home. Mr. Alexander died July 25, 1994 at the Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born February 2, 1915, in Hemming, Cooke County, to W. A. and Mary Robersion Alexander. On Oct. 23, 1941, he married Maurine McMillin in Marietta, Okla. He was a life-long resident of the Mountain Springs area. He retired from the Cooke County Road Maintenance Department as a heavy equipment operator after 30 years. He served as an infantryman in th [sic] Pacific during World War II. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Maurine Alexander; 2 daughters; 5 grandchildren; brothers, H. E. “Jack” Alexander of Valley View and Bill D. Alexander of Pilot Point; sisters, Fritizie Haynie of Valley View, Violet Lemons of Valley View, Izora Grider of Madill, Okla., and Cledus Hale of Marlow, Okla. He was preceeded in death by his son Lloyd Neale Alexander and one brother Dolo Guy Alexander, who was killed in action during World War II.
