Alexander, 71, of Pilot Point died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Denton Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 8, 1931, in Vernon to W. D. and Mary (Roberson) Alexander. On June 27, 1954, he married Loris Michelson in Monrovia, Calif. Mr. Alexander retired from teaching in Grand Prairie. He served in the Navy for four years, and was a volunteer fireman for 26 years and served as an EMT for five years. He also served on the Pilot Point school board for three terms and the Pilot Point City Council for two terms. He was member of the Masonic Lodge # 270. Mr. Alexander was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. A service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, at Calvary Baptist Church in Pilot Point. Dr. Robert Beck and Luther Slay will officiate. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Mount Springs. Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife; one daughter; two sons; and two sisters, Violet Lemons of Mount Springs and Izora (Snookum) Grider of Madill, Okla. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dolo Guy Alexander, A. L. “Pete” Alexander and H. E. “Jack” Alexander, and two sisters, Locadee “Fritizie” Haynie and Cledus Hale of Marlow, Okla.
