ESSIE ALTUM

	Funeral services for Essie Altum, 81, of Rt. 7, Gainesville, will be 
held today at 2 p.m. in the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with the Rev. James 
Braswell and Dr. Joan Gray officiating.  Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.
	Mrs. Altum died Sunday in Gainesville Memorial Hospital.
	She was born March 29, 1907, in Cooke County, daughter of the late 
George R. and Leona Winton McGlothlin.  She was a retired school teacher and a 
member of the First United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Clyde Altum, on April 29, 1968.
	Survivors include her sister, Bessie Corpier of Gainesville; and cousins 
Monroe Morris and Edgar McGilvary of Gainesville and Geraldine Coe in Denison.
	Pallbearers were Kendall Blakey, E. C. Underwood, Carroll Holley, Carl 
Eugster, Doug Plumlee and Clyde Bond.
