All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************************** ADRON (sic) "RED" BRINKLEY Daily Register, Gainesville, Texas: Services for Adron (sic) "Red" Brinkley, 71, of Whitesboro Nursing Home will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with the Rev. Trent Baggett, Mission United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Brinkley died Sunday in Medical Plaza Hospital, Sherman. He was born April 29, 1922, in Lawton, Okla., to the late Thomas and Minnie Brown Brinkley. He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II and was awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart. He married the former Ruby Hall July 10, 1945, in Marietta, Okla. He was employed by Farmer's Feed Store for several years, and then Linda Jo Shoe Co. He was a member of Mission United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife Ruby Brinkley of Whitesboro; daughters Linda Kay Brinkley of Dallas and Vicki Ruth Hanson of San Bernadino, Calif.; sons Don Brinkley of Denison, James Edward and Adron Lee Brinkley of Gainesville; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild; sisters Iva Sutton of Abilene and Audrey Green of Corinth; half-sister Clara Carlile of Gainesville; brothers Thomas Brinkley of Dallas and Jessie Brinkley of Gainesville. Pallbearers are Donnie, Jeffery, Ernie, Earl and Troy Brinkley and Dale Ray Alexander. Visitation is tonight from 7-8 at the funeral home.
