J. Carroll & Son Chapel with the Rev. Milton Pledger and the Rev. Bill LaBarr officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Brinkley died Wednesday in Medical City Hospital, Dallas. He was born April 3, 1926, in Coleman to the late Thomas and Minnie Brown Brinkley. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He married the former Ruth Arnold June 30, 1950, in Gaines- ville. A professional truck driver, he was employed by Martindale Feed Mill for 11 years prior to retirement. He was a charter member of the Mission Methodist Church. Mr. Brinkley was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie, in 1952. Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law Ernie and Gayla Brinkley of Valley View and John and Robin Brinkley of Gaines- ville; two grandsons; brothers Adron and Jessie Brinkley of Gainesville and Thomas Brinkley of Dallas; sisters Iva Sutton of Abilene, Margaret Giles of Bakersfield, Calif., and Audrey Green of Corinth; and half-sister Clara Carlile of Gainesville. Pallbearers are Earl Brinkley, Dale Ray - Alexander, David Alexander, Wallace Clayter, Joe Pennbroke, and Robert Martindale. Visitation is this evening from 7-8 at the funeral home.
