Daily Register, Gainesville, Tex., Wed., July 9, 1980, page 2:

Services for Walter W. Brinkley, 82, of 1419 Throckmorton St. will be at 10
a.m. Friday in the Geo J. Carroll & Son Chapel.  The Rev. Robbie Holcomb will
officiate, with burial in the Fairview Cemetery.

Brinkley was born June 21, 1898, in Wise County, a son of the late Tom
Brinkley.

Survivors are his wife, Cleo; three sons, R. D. of Chickasha, OK., Leon of
Gainesville, and Truman of Colorado; one daughter, Dovie Stiles of Rush
Springs, OK. ;  two step daughters, Opal Knight and Willie Rosenbaugh, both of
Los Angeles, CA.; five half-brothers, Adron, Bill, Jesse, and Thomas Jr., all
of Gainesville and Robert of Dallas; four half-sisters, Margaret Giles of
Bakersfield, CA., Clara Dell Carlyle of Gainesville, Audrey Green of Garland
and Iva Lee Sutton of Abilene; one sister, Jewell Bachman of Gainesville; 14
grand children and several great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lee, John, Ernie, Earl, Everett and Larry Brinkley.
