She professed religion and joined the Methodist church in 1855. Departed this life September 1st, 1910. She was 71 years, 11 months and three days old. Was buried at Union school house (Union Valley Cemetery) in this County. Sister Wallace leaves a husband and six children and a host of friends to mourn her loss; James Wallace, Mrs. Sarah Taylor, Mrs. Betty Coleman, Mrs. Lucy Patterson, Mrs. Nora Pendleton, Mr. Sam Wallace, with a number of grandchildren. Our loss is her eternal gain. To her children she has left a name that is of more value than gold. Her godly patient life is one worthy of imitation. As long as she was able to attend services she was in her place. When opportunity presented itself, she was ready to stand as a witness for her Lord. Her home life was one of true piety; it was a pleasure to be with her and talk of her hopes and prospects for a home in Heaven. As a neighbor, she will long be remembered. She will be missed so much at home, at church, and by her friends and neighbors. We have no shelter in hours of sorrow that will help like that of resignation. To weary hearts, to mourning homes, God's Meekest Angel gently comes. There's quiet in that angel's glance, There's rest in His still countenance. The ills and woes He may not cure, He kindly trains us to endure. He walks with thee, that angel kind, And gently whispers be resigned. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord, Because they rest; because their trials are o'er. The voice of weeping shall be heard no more, In the eternal city, neither dying, nor sickness, pain, nor sorrow, neither crying, For God shall wipe away all tears, rest, rest. J. M.
