Grimes had moved to Navarro County to be near their sons, F.M. and S.W. around 1882 after their youngest daughter married in Coryell County. They died there in 1889. Family lore was always concerned about this sale of land because within a few years (1886) S.W. had sold the land for substantial profit. He paid $3.15/acre and when he sold, it was $15/acre.
