SIMS Rev. Raymon W. Sims, 71, of Evant died March 5 at the local hospital. Funeral services were held March 7 at Trinity Baptist Church in Gatesville, with burial in the Restland Cemetery. Officiating at the services was the Rev. David Crosby. Rev. Sims was born July 2, 1913 in Turnersville and married Iva Lee Barton on Dec. 2, 1938 at Oglesby. He was pastor of the Moline Baptist Church in Lampasas County and had been pastor at several churches in Coryell County. He moved to Evant n 1972 and was also a bus driver for the Evant Independent School District;.. Survivors include his wife: three sons, LeRamon Sims of Waco, Henry Sims of Gatesville and Jackie Sims of Houston; one daughter, Donna Horton of Cedar Park; three brothers, Earl Sims of Rogers, Arkansas, Arnold Sims and Marvin (Chick) Sims, both of Waco and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers at the services were Carylon Wall, J.D. Hunt, Charles Griffin, Jackie Williams, Gayle Calhoun, Bob Wright, Gary Tyson and Phil Brister.
