SIMS' RITES HELD Services for Mrs. L. A. (Ora Fay) Sims, 66, of Gatesville were held May 8 at Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Rev. D.W. Copeland conducted the rites, and burial was in Restland Cemetery. Mrs. Sms, a Coryell County resident most of her life and a former employee of the Gatesville State School for Boys, died May 6 in the local hospital. Born July 26, 1915, in Ellis County, she came to Coryell County as a child with her parents, the late Gilbert and Pickney Taylor, and was reared in the Jonesboro community. She was married to Lindsey A. Sims on April 6, 1932. They had made their home in Gatesville the last 38 years. Mrs. Sims was a laundry supervisor at the State School for a number of years before ill health forced her retirement in 1973. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Lelan Fay Brown of Gatesville; four brothers, Loyd Taylor and Arvin Taylor, both of Gatesville, Troy Taylor of Mart and Clayton Taylor of Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Jewell Anthony of Avalon and Mrs. Kelsie Ashley of New Mexico; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers for Mrs. Sims' funeral were Jerry Petree, Johnny Wolff, Raby Baker, Billy Joe Herring, Steve Kopec and Otto Wolff.
