Price File contributed to USGenWeb by: Neva Patterson McClain NEVAMC@email.msn.com OF THE STATE TEXAS COUNTY OF CORYELL Before me, the undersigned authority in and for Coryell County, Texas on this day personally appeared Mrs. Sarah J. Price, wife of M. Y. Price, to me known to be a credible person, who by me being duly sworn, on her oath says that she is 62 years of age and is a daughter of J. C. (Joe) Patterson and his first wife, who was Mary Wright. That there was born to them by this marriage: John W. Patterson, born December 15, 1858. He died January 18th, 1926 in Coryell County, Texas. Alford J. Patterson, born January 2nd 1861 and he died in 1880, never married without issue. Sarah Jane Patterson, the affiant, born January 25th 1864 and married to M. Y. Price that there was no other children born in said wedlock. That her mother, Mary Patterson, died April 2nd 1867. 2nd. J. C. (Joe) Patterson was married to Jane Whitaker his second wife in 1869, and to this marriage there were born: Delia Patterson, who married R. T. Chatham, was born December 4th 1870. Belle Patterson, who married T. A. Botkin, was born November 23rd 1873. Quince E. Patterson was born July 14th, 1876, who married Florence McCann and to this marriage one child was born, who died in infancy. Quince died in January 1923, his widow remarried after his death to a man named Thompson and lived in Coleman County, Texas. Jane Patterson, his second wife, died May 6th 1878. J. C. (Joe) Patterson was married to his third wife, Mary C. Wood, September 19th 1878. She was a widow at the time of marriage and was mother of two children viz: Jeff Wood and Josie Wood. Jeff Wood married and to his marriage one child was born, Price Wood, who is still living, so is his mother. Josie was married to a man named W. P. Dyess and they lived in San Saba County, Texas. To this marriage, third marriage were born the following: B. S. Patterson July 2nd 1879. Neal Patterson March 14th 1880. Albert Patterson August 28th 1885. Willie Patterson May 20th 1888. Willie was married to Annie Adams in July 25th 1904. To this marriage there were born Carlee Patterson on August 13th 1906 and Ruby Patterson on September 1908. Willie Patterson died July 18th 1911. His widow remarried after his death to a man named Northcutt. His children are both living Carlee and Ruby is married to Jesse Johnson, and Annie their mother died November 23rd 1924. J. C. (Joe) Patterson departed this life December 23, 1918 in Coryell County, Texas and his widow, Mary C. Patterson departed this life on September 14th 1925 in Coryell County, Texas. Never remarried after the death of her husband, J. C. Patterson. The foregoing is the names of all the children born to J. C. (Joe) Patterson in the three marriages and of those who are living. I have been living in the same vicinity with the families most of my life and associated with them and was familiar with them during their lives and know of my personal knowledge that is a complete list of names and their ages from personal knowledge and from the record as made in the family Bible and know of my own personal knowledge that no other children were born to him during his three marriages. /s/ Mrs. Sarah J. Patterson to me well known to be a credible person and who being by me duly sworn, says on his oath that he is a son of J. C. (Joe) Patterson deceased and the oldest child of his third marriage and that he has read over the foregoing statement of Mrs. Sarah J. Price and from the personal knowledge of the family history of his father’s family and from the record made in his family Bible that the said statement is true in every particular to the best of his knowledge and belief. /s/ B.
