I do not know what paper it came from. The date of the paper was Tuesday Sept. 29, 1953. MRS. SCOTT, 89, SHEFFIELD, DIES Ozona, Oct 28 (SC) - Mrs. J. W. Scott, 89, a resident of Sheffield for 52 years, died in a Rankin hospital at 12:58 p.m. Monday. Born in Frio County, May 30, 1872, Mrs. Scott was the widow of James William Scott, pioneer Pecos County ranchman who died in 1930. They were married in Knickerbocker Jan. 19, 1891. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednedsay at the Sheffield Baptist Chuch with burial in Sheffield Cemetery. The Rev. A. W. Jones of the Sheffield Baptist Church will officiate, assisted by Jimmy Gividend, minister of the Sheffield Church of Christ. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Ida Wylie of Brownwood, Mrs. Minnie Evans of Comanche, Mrs. Gertrude Williams, Mrs. Bertha Evans and Mrs. Maggie Martinez, all of Sheffield; two sons, Jim and Charles W. Scott, both of Sheffield, one sister, Mrs. Nonnie Cavaner of Alpine; one niece, Mrs. Mede Stedham of Merchant (Mertzon ?); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
