All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** Dallas Morning News 11 Jan 1887 Sixkiller's Killer Deputy United States Marshal Morton left yesterday for the Indian Territory with Nick Mann, who, a few days ago, was arrested at Vernon by the rangers on the charge of killing at Muscogee Sixkiller, the chief of the Cherokee police, the facts of which bloody affair have been published in THE NEWS. Mann, who is part Cherokee Indian, worked in this city with the late Mr. Robert Cockrell for some time before and up to 1883, when he went back to the Cherokees.
