Allen, 65, of 728 Third, former Deputy Sheriff and retired police officer, died at a local hospital Tuesday after a brief illiness. He had been employed as a night watchman after his disability retirement from the police force in which he served sixteen years. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery, near Mesquite, Wenesday afternoon, at which pallbearers will be veteran police officers who knew him best. They are Capt. E. b. Lane, Lieut. Louis Spencer, W. B. Spencer, W. B. Frazier, F. A. Dyer, L. M. Butler and Sergt. R. R. Stewart. The veteran peace officer was born in Kentucky in 1871 and came to Dallas at the age of 8. In 1890 he married Miss Nola Nelson. He is survived by sons, Elmer, Kelsie, and Vernon W., Dallas; Cecil and Leary of Fort Sill, Okla., and two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Bullen, Dallas, and Mrs. F. O. Potter of Hester, Okla.
