Ard Had Lived at Seagoville Since 1870 Special to the News SEAGOVILLE, Dallas Co., Texas, Dec. 20 - - Mrs. Martha E. Ard, aged 69 years, widow of the late J. S. Ard, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. C. Hawthorne, at Seagoville this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Ard, with her husband, was among the earliest settlers in this part of Dallas County, coming here in 1870. She and her husband have been identified with every movement for the development of this section. Since the death of her husband, fifteen months ago, Mrs. Ard has been making her home with her only daughter, Mrs. R. C. Hawthorne. Besides this daughter, she is survived by four sons, J. L. and A. F. Ard of Seagoville, W. W. Ard of Frederick, OK and Floyd G. Ard of Dallas. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock, followed by interment in the Lee Cemetery.
