Baker (11 Oct 1914- 24 Aug 1931) The Texas Mesquiter 28 Aug 1931 Miss Faye Baker Died Sunday Night Miss Faye Baker, who lacked a few months of being 17 years old, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Baker, in the Long Creek community, Sunday night at 9:00 o’clock. She has been ill for almost two years. Her illness began with an injury to her knee that was not thought to be serious at the time. During the intervening time she had undergone one or more operations and spent more than a year in the hospital. Everything possible was done for her, but without success and for some time it had been realized that her death was just a matter of time. She was born on Oct. 11, 1914 in the community where she died. Those who knew her said she of a happy disposition, obedient to her parents, and kind to everyone. She was a faithful attendant at Sunday School as long as she was able to attend. She is survived by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her grandparents on her mother’s side, Mr. and Mrs. William Renner of Dallas. Mr. Renner was at the funeral but Mrs. Renner was not strong enough to attend. Funeral services were held at the family home Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. L. B. Jenkins, with Sid Smith and Mrs. W. E. Lawrence leading the singing. The funeral was largely attended, many friends and relatives from Dallas and Forney joining those from this section. Interment was in Long Creek cemetery. Death is always sad under any circumstances, but in this instance her loved ones can be consoled by the knowledge that her sufferings are ended. The sympathy of their many friends, which they have had throughout her long illness continued through the trying ordeal of her death and burial. .
