Crutchfield was Associated with Early History of Dallas County Special to the News Blossom, Tex. April 29, Major J. O. Crutchfield who died Friday at ___ in Tioga was buried here Saturday. Major Crutchfield was the son of Thomas Crutchfield, the owner of the famous Crutchfield House, the chief hotelry in Dallas and in North Texas for years. Major Crutchfiled in fact, prededed his father as a citizen of Dallas County. He entered the Confederate Army for Dallas and was Adjutant in Col. Chisholm's Cavalry Regiment. He was in nearly every important battle fought by the Trans-Mississippi Department South of Arkansas. Major Crutchfield was a citizen of Blossom for many years. One sister survives hims, Mrs.Minerva Swindells of Dallas. His only daughter is the wife of Dr. John R. Allen of Southwestern University. Three sons survive, J. R. Crutchfield of New Boston, C. T. Crutchfield of Hope, Arkansas and Hon. George Crutchfield of San Francisco, California.
