D. Harper Members of five generations survive E.D. Harper, age 90, one of the two oldest citizens in Dallas County, who passed away Sunday night, Sept. 19, 1937, at the home of his son, Lee Harper, near Reinhardt. Mr. Harper, who was born July 17, 1847, in Social Circle, Georgia, came to Dallas County, Texas, January 6, 1884, from Washington Co., Texas. A member of the Baptist church at Macedonia since his arrival, he was highly respected by all who knew him. He is survived by two sons, Lee, of Reinhardt and M. A. Harper, Dallas; one daughter, Mrs.W.F. Jackson, Ballinger, twenty-three grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Monday at the Mesquite Baptist Church by the Rev. Rex M. Thompson, with interment in the Mesquite cemetery. Six grandsons served as pall-bearers: Jack Thomas, Edwin Harper, Art Harper, Gould Harper, Maynard Harper and Fred Harper. J. F. McCullough had charge of arrangements..
