Mrs. Jenkins Was Here Before Dallas County Was Organized Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Cynthia B. Jenkins, a Dallas County pioneer, whose death was announced in yesterday's news, will be held at 11:30 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Jenkins was born in Summervell County, Tenn., in 1817. She came to Dallas County in 1845, settling on the homestead seven miles northeast of the city, where she died Monday. This was one year before the organization of the county. Her father, Judge John Thomas, was the first Probate Judge of the county and her husband, William Jenkins, the second Sheriff. She was for fifty-eight years a member of the Southern Methodist Church. Surviving her are the following children: Mrs. A. M. Cochran, Farmers Branch; Mrs. E. M. Livery, Cochrans Chapel; Mrs. G. A. Knight, 333 North Harwood Street, Dallas; Mrs. C. B. Fladger, Sulphur Springs; Miss Elmira Jenkins, who lived at the family home seven miles north of the city; J. T. Jenkins, Savoy; Edgar Jenkins, Collingsworth County, and W. D. and W. :L.
