Funeral Planned for Confederate Veteran
Funeral services for W.T. May, 78 years old, a Confederate veteran, who died 
Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. G. Peacock, 4334 Dickason 
Avenue, Oak Lawn, will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the Lamar-Smith 
Chapel, the Rev. J. W. Fort of the Oak Lawn Methodist Church officiating. 
Burial will be in the Oak Cliff Cemetery. Mr. May was a resident of Dallas for 
many years.

Walter was the son of Jeptha Vivon MAY & Kitturah Ann "Kitty" CHANDLER. He 
married Sarah Jane BURGESS on 3 Feb 1869 in Washington County TX and had the 
following children: Sereath Glass, Claudia America, Kitturah Ann, Drewry 
Jeptha, Etta, Walter Burgess, Burtie Zella, Maggie, Carroll Caruthers, Jessie 
June & Julian Hood MAY.
