Born Oct. 20, 1914, in Harper, Kan., Mr. Potter served in the Military Police in the Army during World War II. After his discharge, he moved to Newhall, where he met and married his wife in 1947. He was a resident of Newhall Avenue from 1947 to 1985. He worked as a cabinetmaker and owned his own cabinet making business. He moved to Davis after the death of his wife. He lived with his daughter. Mr. Potter is survived by her daughter, Sherri Fay of Davis; son, James Potter of San Diego; sisters, Glyda Reese of Grass Valley, Melba Lazarus of Norwich, Kan.; and brother, Carl of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrl Potter, in 1984. Respecting the wishes of Mr. Potter no services are scheduled. Davis Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
