Tuck ************************************************************************ Judge J. M. Patterson - Dallas, March 14, 1906 - Judge J. M. Patterson died after an illness of several months on Tuesday night.. He was born near Lexington, Kentucky, July 31, 1812, and came to Dallas in 1846. He acquired property which has greatly enhanced in value. In 1851, he shipped cotton and hides by raft down the Trinity river. In 1854, he was elected Chief Judge of Dallas County. Judge Patterson walked from Shreveport to Dallas in 1846. For 53 years he has been a Mason. He leaves his wife, whom he was wedded in 1848, and six children. (Jefferson Jimplecute, Mar. 17, 1906)
