All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm *********************************************************** Dallas Morning News - April 5, 1941 - Section: I; Page: 7 Dallas Teacher - 18 Years Dies Miss Irene Sims, teacher in Dallas grade schools for eighteen years, died at her home, 5904 Junius Friday after a short illness. Most of her time spent teaching here was at William Lipscomb School where she taught arithmetic. Prior to coming to Dallas, Miss Sims was on the faculty of a Hillsboro grammar school. Born in Fairfield, Freestone County, she came to Dallas eighteen years ago. Miss Sims was a member of the Munger Place Methodist Church. Surviving her are two sisters, Miss Eula Sims and Mrs. W. P. Bonner of Dallas, and two brothers, M. M. Sims of Dallas and Taylor J. Sims of Hillsboro. Funeral services will be conducted at the home by Dr. Francis A. Buddin at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at the Cotton Gin Cemetery near Teague, Freestone County, at 2 p.m. Saturday.
