His Biography Mr. Pleasant Taylor, one of the oldest citizens of Texas, died yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Reuben P. Aunspaugh, on Ross Ave. Mr. Taylor was born in Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 1817, from which place he moved to Illinois and thence to Texas in 1843, settling near Lancaster, where he engaged extensively in stock raising, in which he was very successful. He was a member of the State convention of secession. In 1873 he came to Dallas where he has since lived. His wife was Nancy Rawlins of an old Texas family. She is yet living. Among his old time friends is Major John Henry Brown. Besides Mrs. Aunspaugh he has two children living. One of them, Mr. P. K. Taylor, is located at Seymour and the other Mr. J. P.
