Amarillo Globe-News http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ============================================================== Lynn Dupree Tull DALLAS - Lynn Dupree Tull, formerly of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003. A service of celebration will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Oak Lawn United Methodist Church. Mrs. Tull died in her home after a two-year battle with brain cancer. She was a devoted daughter, wife and mother; a gifted and caring teacher, an effective civic and church leader and a faithful minister's wife. Her two great loves were teaching and music. Her formal education included Cottey College and Southern Methodist University, where she earned two degrees: a bachelor of arts and a master of liberal arts. In 1969, at Polk Street United Methodist, she married the Rev. Justin W. Tull, a United Methodist minister. She served with him in United Methodist churches of Garland, Wolfe City, Cooper, DeSoto, Dallas, Denton and most recently at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church in Dallas. She will long be remembered for her loving attention to her students, most recently at Strickland Middle School and the Episcopal School of Dallas, where she was recently honored by having the future handbell room named after her. In the past 30 years, she had started six handbell choir programs. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Dupree of Amarillo; her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Tull of Dallas; a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clay Cruden of Dallas; and a grandson, Owen Riley Cruden of Dallas. The family suggests memorials be to the music ministry of Polk Street United Methodist Church or the Episcopal School of Dallas. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 18, 2003 ---
