Dallas County Pioneer Passes Away at His Home Near Duncanville Benjamin Wilmut Sr., a pioneer of Dallas County, died at his home, near Duncanville, Thursday, and was buried in the Duncanville Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The deceased was born in Girard County, KY., in 1818. He was married to Miss Mary Bentley, a sister of the late Judge James Bentley of Dallas, and in 1854 removed to Texas, settling on a farm near Duncanville, where he resided until 1900. Mr. Wilmut was the last charter member of the Five Mile Baptist Church, organized thirty-eight years ago. He raised a family of nine children, of whom six are living, one of them being Benjamin Wilmut Jr., who has been connected with the Dallas Postoffice for the last nineteen years. When Mr. Wilmut settled in Dallas County fifty-three years ago, turkeys, deer and bear were abundant, and the Indians and buffalo roamed as far east as Parker County.
