RICHARD FISHER BLANTON AND MARTHA ELLEN BELL WED Miss Martha Ellen Bell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Bell, 415 North Windomere, became the bride of the Rev. Richard Fisher Blanton, Dallas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Blanton, Alto, Thursday evening in the Tyler Street Methodist Church. The Rev. Finis A. Crutchfield, Corsicanna, assisted by the Rev. Homer Vanderpool, officiated. The bride wore a gown of heavy ivory slipper satin designed with a square neckline which was bordered with Venetian lace, long sleeves terminating in petal points over the hands and a full skirt extending into a train. The three-tiered veil of imported illusion was finger-tip length and fell from a tiara of pearlized orange blossoms. She carried a Bible topped with white orchids and showered with white satin ribbons, tulle, and stephanotis. She was given in marriage by her father. Miss Clayden Zumbrunnen was maid of honor and Mrs. Finis A. Crutchfield Jr. of Elk City, Okla., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Elza L. Love, sister of the bridegroom, Sweeny, Brazoria County; Mrs. Charles McCalister, Mrs. Charles R. Ferguson, San Angelo, and Miss Helen Hester. The Rev. Chad Murray was best man, and groomsmen were the Rev. Maggart Howell of Kerens, the Rev. L. B. Broach III, the Rev. Elza L. Love of Sweeny, the Rev. J. B. Holt of Fort Worth and Aubrey Speer. Mrs. W. H. Satterfield and Carl Dowda gave the traditional wedding music. A reception at the home of the bride's parents followed the ceremony. Presiding at the cake was Mrs. P. J. Groody of Manhattan, Kan. Miss Bernice Bay and Miss Elaine Covey were in charge of the bride's book. Others in the house party were Mrs. Randolph Cullon Jr. and Mrs. A. P. Dowlen, who served punch; Mmes. Clyde Johnston, V. H. Stanford, R. C. Lawson, L. V. Orr, G. R. Adkins, C. E. McBride and David Mims; Miss Bobbie Lee Moore, Miss Gearline Smith and Miss LaTrelle Dunaway. After a wedding trip to Houston and Galveston, the couple will live in Oklahoma City, Okla. Mrs. Blanton is a graduate of SMU, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority, Mortar Board and was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. Her husband received his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Divinity degrees from SMU. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Delta and the Choral Club. [picture of bride] MISS ROBERTSON BECOMES BRIDE OF ALBERT DOLAN The marriage of Miss Margaret Bernice Robertson, 3806 Holland, to Albert J. Dolan, 8306 Inwood Road, took place Thursday at 10 a.m. at the rectory of HOly Trinity Church, with the Rev. Austin F. Minogue officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elston Roy Robertson, St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heller, 3623 Cragmont. Mrs. G. Gordon Robertson, Houston, sister-in-law of the bride, had charge of the bride's book; Mrs. John McPolan presided at the silver service and Miss Colleen Dolan cut the wedding cake. After a wedding trip to California, Mr. and Mrs. Dolan will be at home at 8306 Inwood Road. Dr. G. Gordon Robertson, Houston, brother of the bride was among the out- of-town guests attending the ceremony. JACK GOERTZEN, JOELLEN BANNISTER MARRY AT CHURCH The marriage of Miss Joellen Bannister, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Bannister, 2915 Knight, to Flight Officer Jack Oliver Goertzen, son of Mrs. Dorothy Goertzen, Milwaukie, Ore., took place Thursday evening at the Highland Baptist Church. Dr. Julian Atwood officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Traditional wedding music was presented by Mrs. Leo Kopisch, Miss Caroline Brown of Kilgore, Miss Mary Leachman and David Ball. Mr. Bannister gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a white satin gown designed with a sweetheart neckline, a long fitted bodice and leg-of-mutton sleeves. The skirt extended into a long train. Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and her fingertip veil fell from a coronet of seed pearls. Miss Wilma Thiele was maid of honor and Mrs. C. D. Houser, Conroe, attended her sister as matron of honor. Stanley M. Goertzen, brother of the bridegroom, Milwaukee, was best man. Ushers were Fred Freeman and Edward Thiele. Russell Johnston was groomsman. Miss Betty Sue Ray and Miss Florene Smith lighted the tapers. A reception in the church parlor followed the ceremony. Miss Anna Jean Strickland presided at the wedding cake and Miss Dorothy Caven served the punch. Mrs. Russell Johnston was in charge of the bride's book. Others in the house party were Misses Tommie Lee Maddux of Forth Worth, Nancy Hunter, Jane Massey and Bettie Lee Hixon. Following a wedding trip through Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Goertzen will live in Portland, Ore., where they will attend Multnomah College. The bride is a graduate of North Dallas High School and a former student of North Texas State College. Her husband attended the University of Washington. FLOY MCKAY BECOMES E. C. BRAZELL'S BRIDE Miss Floy McKay, daughter of Mrs. H. L. McKay, Plainview, became the bride of E. C. Brazell, Dallas, Monday evening at the White Rock Methodist Church, with the Rev. Edward O. Williams reading the marriage rites. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. A. D. Howard, 8607 Angora. E. C. Allen, uncle of the bridegroom, gave the bride in marriage. She wore a sky-blue dress with navy-blue accessories and a white imported braid bandeau. She carried a white satin prayer book topped with a bouquet of white carnations and white satin streamers. Mrs. Fay T. Smith attended the bride as matron of honor and J. Oak Smith served as best man. The wedding music was given by Mrs. S. S. Swanson. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom's mother. The couple left for a wedding trip to Mexico and New Mexico and will later be at home at 3007 Wylie Drive. WEDDING DATE SET BY MILDRED HELMS Announcement was made Tuesday evening of the wedding date of Miss Mildred Helms, daughter of Mrs. Lena Helms of Texarkana, and Ted Burns. The ceremony will take place June 15 in Texarkana. The announcement was made at a surprise shower and no-host dinner party given for the bride-to-be at the Italian Village.
