Mr. Cross was in town that morning after a load of coal. The unfortunate young man was in the yard and his mother asked a younger brother to care for him.. This was neglected and in a short time Blain was missing. A search was made and an inquiry of neighbors revealed nothing. In the meantime Mr. Cross returned home and thinking the boy might have gone to feed the fish in the pool he made an examination and found the body where he had accidentally fallen in. The remains were interred in Oak Lawn cemetery Wednesday. This was a hard blow to Mr. & Mrs. Cross, whose parental affection was unusually strong for their afflicted son.
