Tuck Mrs. Susie Laura Hargrove obit - "Delta Courier" paper, reprinted in Sulphur Springs, Texas, paper, dated Wed. Mar. 22, 1939 Mrs. Susie Laura Hargrove, wife of Joe Hargrove of Sulphur Springs, died at her home Sunday morning at 9 a.m. following an illness of two years. She was taken critically ill last Tuesday. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. R. E. Streetman, assisted by r. Herman H. Davis of Dallas. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, with Smith Funeral Home in charge. Susie Laura Woods was born July 2, 1887, in Mississippi, and came with her parents to Forney and in 1896 was married to Robert Flowers. Seven children were born to this union, six of whom survive and are Vess Flowers of Dallas, Mrs. Price Butler of Forney, Mrs. Lloyd Blandenship of Amarillo, Mrs. Erving Chatham of Corpus Christi, Oscar Flowers and Mrs. Woodrow Wilson of Sulphur Springs, two step-children, Mrs. Hoot Gibson of Dallas, and Tom Hargrove of Sulphur Springs. She is survived by her husband, Joe Hargrove, two sisters, Mrs. Fred Adams, Kaufman, and Mrs. Rufus Woodall of route three, and two brothers, Jim Woods and Jess Woods of Dallas. Mrs. Hargrove was converted and joined the Baptist Church in early life. Nephews of the deceased were pallbearers.
