Tyler - (Cooper Review - reprinted in the Sulphur Springs Gazette, Fri., June 25, 1909) J. T. Tyler, a farmer about 65 years of age, who lives about ½ mile east of Lake Creek was killed by lightning last Friday. He was standing on his back gallery by the pump when the bolt of lightning struck the house, damaging it some and setting the wall paper in one of the rooms on fire. A part of the charge seemed to have struck the unfortunate man on the head and run down to his feet, killing him instantly. His hair and beard was burned and actually blown off his head and face, and the body badly burned down to his heel where the charge left tearing the heel open.
