			Solomon Bryant - Biography

He married (1) THEODOCIA ERNST JORDAN Abt. 1876 in Pilot Point, TX, daughter of
JOHN JORDAN and MARGARET ELDER. She was born October 14, 1860 in Hopkins Co., 
TX., and died March 11, 1879 in Pilot Point, Denton County, Texas.

He married (2) SARAH ELLEN JONES, born. July 05, 1882 in Denton County, Texas,
daughter of JOHN JONES and OBEDIENCE HATCHER. She was born May 01, 1851 in 
Mariana, Florida, and died November 07, 1921 in Pilot Point, Denton County, TX.
They are both buried in the Pilot Point Community Cemetery, Pilot Point, Texas.
(Note: Texas marriage index, posted at ancestry.com says they were married Oct.
12, 1879, in Denton Co., Texas.)

Children of SOLOMON BRYANT and THEODOCIA JORDAN are:
	i. LELA ELLA BRYANT, b. Abt. 1877; d. September 10, 1968, Little Rock, 
Ark.; m. (1) UNKNOWN GRINDSTAFF, divorced; m. (2) JOHN ADAMS BURDELL, Bef. 
March 01, 1922, Oklahoma; d. 1995, Little Rock, Ark.
	ii. NELL (THEODOCIA "DOCIA") BRYANT, b. February 27, 1879; d. April
1947; m. SAMUEL ARCHIBALD MAGRUDER VITTITOE, March 01, 1899.

Children of SOLOMON BRYANT and SARAH JONES are:
	iii. ALVIN C. BRYANT, b. July 26, 1883; d. October 16, 1960, Denton, 
Texas; m. LELA MAY SMITH, 1911, Denton Co., Texas.
	iv. BERTIE BRYANT8, m. RALEIGH "ROLLIE" HAMES.
	v. VERA "DEEDIE" BRYANT, b. October 08, 1892; d. October 23, 1971.
Burial: Pilot Point Community Cemetery, Pilot Pt., Texas.

NOTE: 
According to a May 26, 2001 letter from Mary Ruth Beckett, descendant of
Theodocia Jordan: After Theodocia's death, Sol went home to his parents.  
"No day care in Pilot Point in 1879. Aunt Lela (my great aunt) was almost two 
and Mama was being nursed by his sister-in-law. When he remarried, Ellen Jones,
they went to live with him and new mother. When nephew Carl H. Welch died, his
mother Molly and Ed were moving to Whitemound. Sol (Bryant) told them he had 
several lots at cemetery with only Theodocia buried there.

May 26, 2001 letter from Mary Ruth Beckett, descendant of Theodocia Jordan.
Mary Ruth Beckett wrote: "I think Ellen Jones must have been part Indian. 
She looked best with almost straight black hair. She passed driver's test just
a year or two before she died. She was only 10 when (Sol's granddaughter) my 
mother was born.
