Champion Cemetery, Lewisville, Texas

January 8, 2005.  This information was gathered and transcribed
 from records at the Denton County Historical Commission and 
from a Cemetery Survey by Lori Andreasen.

From Denton, take I35 South to Lewisville.  Take Exit 449 
(Corporate Road).  Go back over I35 and go North on the Service
 Road.  Just after Cavendar Boots, but before Huffines, there is
 a paved road leading between the two, to the United Artist Theater. 
 Turn East on that road.  At the end of the Huffines property,
 on the left, there is a northbound, small paved road, between
 the Huffines fencing and the Cemetery fencing. Follow that road
 about 0.1 miles and it ends at the Cemetery Gates.  

The original Champion Cemetery was moved to this existing Macedonia
 (Mt. Olive) Cemetery site (#7) in 1953 by the Core of Engineers
 (COE).  The current Champion Cemetery (new #4) is located in the
 front of the property.  The Macedonia (Mt. Olive) Cemetery is 
located in the back of the property.  There is no cemetery platt
 available at this time.

The Cemetery is still Active.  
It is known to be an African American Cemetery.
It is unknown who manages the property at this time.

The marker reflects what appears to be the grave location at the original Cemetery ("Cem 7, Gr 37, Blk 23, Space F").
