Bryant and wife M. A. Bryant conveyed property to daughter, S. E. "Betty". The deed reads: Text of 1895 June 21 Deed, filed in Denton County, Texas, from C. R. Bryant and M. A. Bryant to daughter Betty: "...whereas, our daughter, Miss. S. E. Bryant of Denton County Texas, hath been for a long time and is now our C. R. Bryant's and M. A. Bryant's mainstay and support both in sickness and in health and whereas she agrees in writing to continue to help and support us, said C. R. Bryant and M. A. Bryant, by her work and earnings as we both advance in years on to our final dissolution, and whereas it is our wish to remunerate her all we can, though she asks nothing from us for her help, support and kindness in our old age broken in with many infirmities, but we think as her father and mother that we are in duty bound to do what we can for her in the way of rewarding her for her many acts of regardful attention. Therefore do we, C. R. Bryant and M. A. Bryant, husband and wife, and the father and mother of the said Miss S. E. Bryant, all residing now together on our homestead in the town of Pilot Point in Denton County, Texas, hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, convey and deliver unto our said daughter, Miss S. E. Bryant the entire South half of our present homestead together with all the improvements thereon situated which includes one dwelling house and . . (unreadable). . now located on and affixed to the south half of our said homestead with the specific understanding, however, that we or each of us shall remain on, occupy and dwell on the said bargained premises together with our said daughter so long as we or either one of us may live and abide on this earth; that our present homestead is 35 yards by 70 yards and is located and situated in the town of Pilot Point in Denton County, Texas in the Charles Smith survey and it is the identical lot of land deeded to the said C. R. Bryant by B. H. Dirickson on the 29th day of June A.D. 1891. . . " It was witnessed by S. H. Bryant and G. V. Harrison. The acknowledgement said: That I, S. E. Bryant, daughter of the said C. R. Bryant and his wife, M. A. Bryant, all of Denton County, Texas, do hereby accept of the above deed burdened with the conditions therein named and that I hereby bind myself to be forever bound by its terms and should I fail at any time to comply with same then deed shall become null and void and of no force and effect whatsoever. "Note: All of Pilot Point is in the Charles Smith survey. S. H. (Solomon H. B.) Bryant, witness, was Claiborne's nephew, son of Alexander Hart Robertson Bryant, who also lived in Pilot Pt. at the time.
