HOLMES Occured at His Home Near Little Elm, Denton County ____________ WELL KNOWN IN M'KINNEY Father of Mesdames W. H. Waterman and Sam Sealy, Formerly of this City ____________ W. H. Holmes one of the best citizens of Denton county died Sunday morning at his home 3 miles east of Little Elm. He had been on a visit to Western Texas and was taken sick while there and died within a few days after his return home. Mr. Holmes, who was about sixty-five years of age, is well known in McKinney, having transacted business here often. He leaves a wife and four children as follows: Mrs. W.H. Waterman and Mrs. Sam Sealey of San Francisco, California, Mrs. Robert McElhanon, of Prosper, and Calvin Holmes residing in the Territory. Mrs. Waterman and Mrs. Sealy both lived in McKinney for several years and their father visited them often during this time. Mrs. Waterman was visiting her father when he died. Mr. Holmes was a brother-in-law of Clint Thompson editor of the Examiner of this city. He was a member of the Baptist church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon under the auspices of the Lodge. The interment was made in the Little Elm cemetery. McKinney Courier Gazette September 6, 1904
