Bryant and Lela Mae Smith Publication of marriage of A. C. Bryant and Lela Mae Smith, June 24, 1911: Last Saturday evening at 9 o'clock Mr. A. C. Bryant and Miss Mae Smith stole quietly away to the Baptist Pastorium, where Rev. E. J. Thompson spoke the few words which made them man an wife until death. Only the relatives accompanied them. Those from out of town were: Ernest Smith, Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Edith Hodges, Frederick, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Vittitoe, Madille, Okla. and Misses Bertie and Vera Bryant, Pilot Point, Texas. The groom is our popular and accommodating depot agent who has won the very highest regard of all who knew him, while the bride is one of our choicest flowers, whose daily walk counts for all that is good. Her friends are legion, and only numbered by her acquaintance, as all who know her, love her. After July 1st they will be at home, in the G. A. Townley cottage." Note: Regarding Vera "Deedie" Bryant, daughter of Solomon H. B. Bryant--she was the only woman on city sales force of Brown Cracker and Candy Co. She never married.
