      TO
SAMUEL ANDREWS

County of Gonzales

	Know all men by these presents that I ANDREW LOCKHART of the Republic
and County aforesaid am held and firmly bound unto SAMUEL ANDREWS in the same
County in the sum of one thousand dollars good and lawful money for the 
payment of which will and truly to be made  I bind myself my heirs and 
administrators firmly by these presents sealed with my seal and dated this 
19th day of May A.D. 1842 
The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound 
ANDREW LOCKHART hath this day bargained and sold unto SAMUEL ANDERS a certain
tract piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid and 
situated on the S.W. Bank of the Guadalupe river and to be  ( surved ?) off 
of a league of land granted to A. LOCKHART commencing at the upper corner of
a survey made to W. LOCKHART meandering the river up to a survey made to J. 
SPEER  thence with the lower line of said survey to the back corner of said 
SPEERS survey   thence due South  to the upper line of a survey made for W. 
LOCKHART   thence East to the place of beginning  Now if the said A. LOCKHART
shall make or cause to be made unto the said ANDERS a good and sufficient 
title to the above described lands then this obligation to be void otherwise 
to remain in full force and effect

		Before me Ezekiel Williams personally came WILLIAM ANDERS the
attesting witness to the foregoing instrument and under oath saith that he 
signed the same as a witness  And that SAMUEL LOCKHART subscribed his name to
the seal of the foregoing instrument and acknowledged that he done the same 
for the uses and purposes contained in the foregoing Bond.

		 This is to certify  I SAMUEL ANDERS bind myself to pay to 
ANDREW LOCKHART one dollar per acre for the within described land the time 
that said money is to be paid to be specified when the within land is 
surveyed and the number of acres ascertained.
