Alexander McAllister JASPER L. GILBERT deed to ALEXANDER MC ALLISTER The State of Texas County of Dewitt Know all men by these presents that I JASPER L. GILBERT of the County & State above written have this 4th day of May A.D. 1857 for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt of which said sum I hereby acknowledge have bargained, sold, aliened and conveyed and by these presents do bargain, sell, alien, and convey unto ALEXANDER MC ALLISTER, his heirs, or assigns forever all my right, title & interest in and to the following described tract or parcel of land lying and situate on the waters of the five mile Coleto in said County & State and being a part of the Headright third of league granted to JOHN NELSON as lain down on the map of said County of Dewitt and purchased by me from- PINCHBACK of Colorado County in said State of Texas said land conveyed by these presents meted and bounded as follows (to wit) beginning on the Corner South East Corner of F. B. Webbs land on the East boundary line of the original survey at a stake from which a Live Oak marked with a X bears N. 31 degrees E. 32 varas another marked with a X bears N. 70 degrees W 45 varas. Thence due South 787 varas to a stake in the East Boundary line of the original 1/3 league from which a Post Oak bears S. 29 degrees W. 11 varas marked X and another bears due S. 9 varas. Thence due west 717 varas to stake from which a Post Oak marked X bears N. 10 degrees W. 8 varas. Thence due North 787 to a balck jack marked as a corner in F. B. Webb's south boundary line. Thence due east with Webb's line to the beginning containing 100 acres of land more or less to have and to hold the above decribed tract or parcel of land to the only proper use and behoof of him the said ALEXANDER MCALLISTER, his heirs and assigns and the said JASPER L. GILBERT for himself his heirs, executors, or administrators covenant and agree with said ALEXANDER MC ALLISTER, his heirs executors, administrators, and assigns to warrant and forever to defend the title in and to said tract or parcel of land against the claim or claims of all and every person whomever claiming or to claim the same.
