JAMES H. MORRIS deed to PLEASANT GILBERT The State of Texas County of Dewitt This indenture made and entered into this 11th day of April in the year of Our Lord on thousand eight hundred and Sixty-one between JAMES H. MORRIS of the County of Victoria and State of Texas of the one part and PLEASANT GILBERT of the County of Dewitt & State of Texas of the other part. Witnessth that the said JAMES H. MORRIS for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said PLEASANT GILBERT the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath bargained, sold conveyed and Delivered and by these presents do Bargain, Sell, Convey and Deliver unto the said PLEASANT GILBERT a certain tract or parcel of Land, lying situate and being in the County of Dewitt & State of Texas on the waters of the Five Mile Colleto Creek and being a part of the NELSON or PINCHBACK 1/3 of a league and being the same tract of land conveyed by JASPER L. GILBERT to said JAMES H. MORRIS by deed bearing date 23rd Feby A.D=2E 1857 and on record in the County Court of Dewitt County. In record Book G on pages 368 for Deeds and Bounded as follows " To Wit". Beginning at the North West corner of CHRISTIAN TUTON 150 acres tract being sold by JASPER GILBERT to said CHRISTIAN TUTON of said 1/3 league of land and running Thence due North with the West Boundary line as the original 1/3 league of land Three hundred and Eighty Three and a half varas to the South West corner of EDWARD J. BLAIRS Tract of Land sold by JASPER GILBERT out of the aforesaid 1/3 leasgue of Land from which a Live Oak bears South 2 degrees West 47 varas and a Post Oak bears N. 42 degrees East 34 or 84 varas. Thence due South three hundred and Eighty Three and a half varas to a stake in said TUTON'S line. Thence due West with TUTON'S line nine hundred varas to the Beginning containing Sixty-One acres of Land be the same more or less. To have and To hold the above described Land and Bargained Premises with all and singular the Rights Profits, Hereditaments and Appertenances to the same belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining to the only proper use and benefit of him the said PLEASANT GILBERT his Heirs and assigns and the said JAMES H. MORRIS doth hereby Covenant and agree to and with the said PLEASANT GILBERT that he will for himself his Heirs, Executors or Administrators Warrant and forever defend the Title of the above described Tract of Land and premises unto him the said PLEASANT GILBERT his Heirs and assigns forever against the Title claim or interest of himself and Heirs and from all amnner of person or persons whomsoever claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.
