Hensley, of Davidson, OK, who was struck by the southbound passenger train while attempting to flag the same at Southard, 11 miles west of Clarendon, early this morning. Hensley and a friend, W.E. Bradford, were making their way to NM and were put off a freight train at Southard last night. In the dead man’s pockets were found a watch and $65 in money. Three suicides in 36 hours is the record established in Fort Worth Fort Worth Star Sunday, L.C. Hutchins, vice-president of the Fort Worth National Bank shot himself through the head in the bank building. Sunday night, Eric C. Gambrell, young attorney and newspaperman of Dallas, and son of Dr. J.B. Gambrell, the noted Dallas Baptist preacher, killed himself at his room at the Hotel Worth with a pistol ball through the heart. Monday, J.M. Lusk committed suicide in a billiard parlor on Main street. J.R. Leathers died at his home six miles east of town Wednesday after a short illness with pneumonia. Funeral held at First Baptist church on Thursday, interment in the Citizen cemetery conducted by Revs. Sebe Thomas and A.C. Burroughs. Mr. Leathers was an old citizen of Donley county, and highly regarded. He was in his 49th year. Surviving him is a wife and six children. One of the gins at Memphis burned to the ground Sunday. It was owned by Moreman, Burnett & Eddleman.
