Nelson died last Saturday his family was visited by their second affliction in two weeks, his daughter-in-law, Mrs. N.[Nelse] J. Nelson having died on 29 February. He was one of the pioneer citizens, a sincere Christian and a devoted member of the Lutheran church. Mr. Nelson was born near Stockholm, Sweden in 1841, coming of one of the most prominent families of that country, his brother being a member of the parliament of Sweden and the members of the family being prominent in a political way. He moved to America about 40 years ago when his two eldest children were in their infancy, coming first to Illinois and removing to their home in the Brice Community in 1890, where he engage in stock farming. He was a large stockholder in the Donley County State Bank. Surviving: aged wife [Bessie] and six children. N.[Nelse] J. Nelson, Mesdames John ["Ella"] Grady, L.R. Dean, M.[Mitch] E. Bell, C.[Charlie] E. ["Alma Elizabeth"] Murphy, and Harry ["Emily"] Weatherly, were at his bedside at the time of his death.
