The big parade, in which floats were entered from many towns and for which a prize was awarded to Fort Worth for the best float, was headed by Col. W.K. Gordon, discoverer of the Ranger field. - Jan 3 – A purse snatcher took $4,000 in gems from Mrs. J.B. Ames. - Jan 4 – J.E. Meroney announced largest post office receipts in years. - Jan 10 – The new Liberty Cafι was robbed of $225. - Jan 12 - The Citizens State and Ranger State banks declared an 8 percent dividend - Jan 14 – A pipe line was laid to a new oil pool discovered south of Ranger and movie stars, reported interested in the well, were reported getting up a special train from Hollywood to visit their holdings - Feb 1 – The DeGroff hotel burned with a loss of $10,000. It was the last downtown frame landmark of the early boom days. - Feb 10 - the Shamrock dance hall, at Mirror lake, another boom day landmark burned. - Feb 16 – J.F. Lillard succeeded his nephew, the late Steven Lillard, as active president of the Ranger State Bank - Feb 20 – Nitro Field’s name was changed to Lillard Field - March 6 – Master forgers were busy in Ranger. The Right Rev. Rudolph A. Gerken of Ranger had been made a bishop by the Pope. - Apr 4 – An attempt was made to rob the Lamb Theatre and the following night, the Piggly-Wiggly store was robbed. - Apr 6 – John Thurman was elected Mayor, an office he held until his injury forced him to retire. The entire police force resigned and on May 4, Jim Ingram was made chief of police - Apr 7 – C.C. Patterson resigned as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce - Apr 26 – W.C. Hickey was elected as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce - June 10 – The Mead Art and Novelty Shop burned - June 20 – Joseph Dry Goods company was robbed of $510.91 in currency, $50 in gold and nine rings - Aug 3 – The City Commission outlined plans for paving 40 blocks of city Streets - Aug 4 – it was announced that the Times Publishing Company would build a “Home Beautiful” - Aug 10 – Announcement was made that a huge Amesite plant would be installed near Tiffin - Aug 20 – Announcment that Ranger had secured a national guard unit - Aug 20 - After four months in office, Chief of Police Jim Ingram had collected $2,336 in fines, made 333 arrests and recovered nine stolen cars - Nov 4 – The paving contract was let for 40 blocks of city streets - Nov 15 – A narcotic thief robbed the Stafford Drug Company and got away with $9.05. - Nov 16 – R.H. McFarland, T.&P. brakeman, was killed in collision between two freight trains and Robert Lewis was injured. - Nov 17 – Ranger was striving to get a new post office - Dec 3 – A big narcotic theft was thwarted when a man who robbed the narcotic case at the Paramount Pharmacy was captured when Herbert Stafford notified the police of the theft. - Dec 23 – The Santa Claus bandit case in Cisco shocked the entire country and Ranger police aided in the manhunt. - Dec 29 – A 2200 barrel well was brought in near Staff and the same day, the Perry Fox home was robbed.
