She was born in Mills County and had been a resident of Seminole since 1958 after moving from Lamesa. SURVIVORS: Sons, William E. Ballard of Las Vegas and J.T. Ballard of Seminole; daughter, Dean Durham of Seminole; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Vera Briggs ARTESIA, N.M. -- Vera Allene Briggs, 88, of Artesia, N.M., a retired retail sales clerk, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, N.M. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Arrangements by Terpening & Son Mortuary. She was born in Lovington, N.M., and moved to Artesia in 1945 from Lovington. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Sons, William D.
